Writing Credits: include the PC Music Handbook (with Roger Evan - PC Publishing 1991 - ISBN 1-870775-17-1), a regular PC multimedia columns in PC Pro and Sound-on-Sound magazines plus regular contributions to music technology and other magazines on music and audio subjects.

Brian's writing experience covers technical authoring, user guides, 'on-line' help, popular writing and HTML authoring. His technical background means that he can readily grasp any underlying technilogical aspects of the project and my experience in writing for the 'popular press' means that he can present the information to the reader in an easy to understand form. Brian's approach to any writing project is a 'holistic' one, it is important to place any information within its context. It is far easier for readers to understand the information if they can relate it to the system (or whatever) as a whole.

As well as paper based manuals Brian has produced on-line help systems in Windows Help format. While the source material can be the same as it's paper based equivalent, the structure of an on-line help system needs to be structured to take account of the different delivery format.

Multimedia: Brian Has produced Multimedia titles for both stand-alone and installable applications. The presentations were all highly interactive and a number had 'attact sequences'. He has the factilities for mastering both audio and video data files and a lot of experience with dealing with multi-format source material as well as the technical wherewithall to produce the final product in a format appropriate for mastering. Previous work has been major companies like Korg and Yamaha as well as smaller customers.

Web Design: The Hyper-Text Markup Language (or HTML) is the core of 'user friendly' access to the internet and has become the logical extension to the multimedia world and fields such as on-line help. Much is possible with the language at the the current 'state of the art' though it is still in a state of flux due to the speed of development within the field. Like multimedia, development of World Wide Web (WWW) pages is a multi-disciplinary art and usually brings together many strands of creative output into a single cohesive production. At the the current state of the technology and the throughput constraints inherent in the current internet consideration must be considered to bandwidth, especially for pages designed for mass consumption.

Brian's approach to web design reflects his adherence to the KISS principle ("Keep It Simple, Stupid") and concentrates on information rich websites that keep to the point with out wasting valuable time, and bandwidth, on flashy gee-gaws that slow down the web experience and distract from the main point of having a web presence in the first place. Where ever practicable, the sites incorporate 'data driven' features that allow clients to update their websites themselves.
